Project Updates
Grand Opening in Quito, Ecuador!
This month our projects' team, alongside our board member Amalia Gomez-Micone  had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening for Casa En Comunidad, our first completed project since the pandemic began and the first in Ecuador! This Casa en Comunidad will serve as a temporary placement and care facility for children in a protective state who have been separated from their families. This home will host up to 8 children ages 4-17 years old. During this placement Aldeas Infantiles SOS Ecuador will seek to preserve, improve and/or strengthen families ties, prevent abandonment, and seek the re-insertion of the child into a loving home.

Our team enjoyed touring the home, meeting the children, and the SOS caregivers. They even had the opportunity to plant a lime and mandarin tree!  We’d like to extend our gratitude to Aldeas Infantiles SOS Ecuador for their warm hospitality and partnership! We’re so excited to see the impact that this new home will have on the children and families in Quito!
