The spread of COVID-19 has severely affected communities around the world, particularly devastating to the most vulnerable members of society, such as orphaned and disadvantaged children. These children live in precarious environments, facing limited access to essential services and protective equipment.
In response to the dire need for medical supplies and resources for learning, Maestro Cares Foundation has stepped up to ensure that all of our children and communities are healthy, safe and supported. We are helping to keep our families and children safe by providing medical equipment, masks, food and supplements. We have also donated electronic equipment so that the children in our projects can continue learning while following stay at home orders.
We continue maintaining ongoing communication with all of our projects to ensure that every child is protected during this uncertain time. SOS Children’s Villages Illinois Roosevelt Community Center
Despite the state-wide “stay at home” order, daily operations for SOS Children’s Villages Illinois has continued without interruption. Progress includes the installation of the Community center’s floor, which means that all of the underground work in the building is officially complete! Additionally, windows and panes of glass have been installed on the north and west sides of the building. The building is close to nearing complete enclosure, as interior work continues throughout the month. The installation of electricity and the internet is soon to follow.

SOS Children’s Villages Illinois is on target for opening the community center in Fall 2020.
