Fundación Perez Scrimini
Maestro Cares Foundation funded the acquisition of essential CAR-T medical equipment for Fundación Pérez Scremini, a foundation treating children and adolescents with cancer in Montevideo, Uruguay. These contributions are to benefit the creation of a CAR-T Therapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell) Department. The groundbreaking therapy implements a personalized treatment for blood cell lymphomas by modifying a patient's own T-cells to target and eliminate cancer cells. Once open, the center will be the first to offer this life-saving treatment in Uruguay.
Fundación Pérez Scremini operates the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology program in Hospital Pereira Rossell. They offer treatment free of charge to children from low-income backgrounds. Their services are comprehensive, including medical consultations, medications, hospital stays and meals, mental health support, treatment research, and transportation.
