Aldeas Infantiles SOS Bolivia

El Alto, Bolivia

Maestro Cares Foundation partnered with the Marta Bedoya de Claure Foundation to fund the construction of two foster care homes in El Alto, Bolivia for Aldeas Infantiles SOS Bolivia.

Each house serves up to 8 children and an “SOS mom”. The SOS moms act as the foster parent and are the ones directly caring for the children and striving to give them love and a sense of family. The program ensures siblings stay together in these foster homes.

Aldeas Infantiles SOS, also known in English as SOS Children’s Villages, is an international non-profit organization active in 135 countries, including 20 in Latin America and the Caribbean. In Bolivia, Aldeas serves 9,000 children throughout the eight cities where they work.
