Maestro Cares Foundation collaborated with the Lower Eastside Girls Club (LESGC) in New York City and funded the construction of their Center for Wellbeing and Happiness. This is our second project in the contiguous United States and our first project in New York.

The belief at the core of the Center for Wellbeing and Happiness (CWBH) initiative is that the wellbeing of LESGC members is intimately connected to the wellbeing of their family, their community, and their world. Every year, LESGC serves over 1000 young women ages 10-23 through free, innovative year-round programming and mentoring.

CWBH provides comprehensive wellness services to families in the Lower Eastside, a densely populated and ethnically diverse neighborhood in New York City. Their programs include wellness education, nutrition, on-site counseling, family and parenting support groups, maternity support, and job training, and they are free for all ages. Community members can register for sessions and workshops or just drop in for events.

LESGC offers free year-round programming in the arts, STEM, leadership, entrepreneurship, wellness, and movement. Their facility includes a maker shop for coding and robotics, an environmental studies lab for STEM exploration, the Alphabet City Art School for visual arts and crafts, the Center for Media and Social Justice for digital media, film, and photography, a sound studio for music production, and their own radio station/podcast, WGRL (Where Girl Radio Lives), a design studio for fashion and material arts, a productive rooftop farm, a full Culinary Education Center, and a 64-seat dome planetarium.

The Maestro Cares Foundation improves the quality of life of disadvantaged children and communities in Latin America and the United States.
