Maestro Cares partnered with Fundación Tigo to rebuild and remodel a complex of three schools in the village of Palo Verde, Municipality of Jalapa, Jalapa, Guatemala.

23 teachers teach more than 700 students across the three schools every year. The renovated school complex houses a Pre-K, a primary school, and a middle school. New building features include 23 classrooms, 3 kitchens, and two modern computer labs equipped with new computers and high-speed Internet access.

Fundación Tigo is a corporate responsibility initiative of Tigo Communications Guatemala. Since 2009, they have improved digital access in schools all over the country, impacting more than 93,000 children.

MCF co-founder Henry Cardenas said about the project, “Education is the best tool that we can offer our children, and we are glad we can share this moment with our friends at Fundación Tigo” (Revista E&N).
