Fundación ReNACI HOPE Department (Hemato-Oncología PEdiátrica) at the Hospital de Clínicas
Asunción, Paraguay
Maestro Cares Foundation funded the construction of a facility providing comprehensive assistance to children battling cancer and their families in Asunción, Paraguay. Fundación RENACI administers the wellness center, which will provide inclusive care for approximately 1,800 children and adolescent patients, infant to 18 years old, annually.
RENACI stands for Red Nacional de Atención del Cáncer Infantil or the National Network for Children’s Cancer Treatment. The Centro de Bienestar Integral, or Comprehensive Wellness Center, will be the foundation’s first stand-alone facility since operations began in 2011. They currently work out of a children’s hospital and four satellite offices throughout the country.
The new construction will be only eight minutes from the HOPE (Hemato-Oncología PEdiátrica) department at Hospital de Clínicas in Asunción, Paraguay. At the center, patients will be able to benefit from oncology services, a specialized diagnostic laboratory, psychological support, rehabilitation and hospice spaces, recreational areas, classrooms, and a communal kitchen.
