Aldeas Infantiles SOS Honduras
Maestro Cares Foundation funded the construction of the Centro Comunitario in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in collaboration with Aldeas Infantiles SOS. This community center has become a vital hub for at-risk families in Tegucigalpa and surrounding villages, offering essential free services aimed at breaking cycles of violence and poverty.
The Centro Comunitario aligns with Aldeas Infantiles SOS Honduras’ mission to protect children’s wellbeing and strengthen family bonds. By providing workshops and support services, the center serves as a catalyst for positive change, ensuring that children stay safely
in their parents’ care. It is projected to directly impact 175 children and adolescents, creating a supportive environment that fosters family stability and resilience.
Aldeas Infantiles SOS and SOS Children’s Villages are the same International non-profit organization, with Aldeas Infantiles SOS being the name used in
Spanish-speaking countries. It is an international non-profit organization active in 135 countries, including 20 in Latin America and the Caribbean. The
Honduran chapter of Aldeas opened its first facility in 1970, and has since expanded to four major cities around the country.
