Together California Village for Brothers & Sisters

Maestro Cares Foundation partnered with Together California, an initiative led by actor and longtime foster care advocate Christian Bale, to support the construction of the Village for Brothers & Sisters in Palmdale, California. The first-of-its-kind community in California was developed to help keep siblings together in foster care while providing children and youth with safe, stable homes and a supportive environment.

The village includes 12 family-style homes and a community center. Each home can serve up to six children and youth, ages 0–21, under the care of a full-time professional Foster Parent, providing siblings with the opportunity to remain together. Together California specialists also provide additional support to Foster Families to help meet the needs of the children and youth in their care.

The community center offers educational, arts, and music programs that provide opportunities for children and youth to learn, connect, and grow. Designed to serve up to 72 children and youth at a time and approximately 100 each year, the village also supports young people aging out of foster care as they transition to independent living.

Together California’s Village for Brothers & Sisters provides a model of foster care centered on preserving sibling relationships and creating the stability, sense of belonging, and opportunities children and youth need to build brighter futures.
