Internado Monseñor Víctor Tamayo

Maestro Cares Foundation partnered with Alcaldia de Barranquilla, Goya Foods, Fundación Pacific, and Fundación Tecnoglass to fund the construction of an orphanage for children who have experienced abused, neglect, or abandonment in Barranquilla, Colombia. The orphanage includes dormitories, a clinic, dining areas, and indoor/outdoor recreational spaces.

Currently home to 96 children, the orphanage focuses on restoring the rights of and delivering comprehensive care to vulnerable children, both on site and in the surrounding community.

In partnership with the Municipality of Barranquilla and the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare, the center offers tutoring, therapy, occupational training, and extracurricular activities. Thanks to these efforts, the children have the opportunity to learn essential skills and grow into independent adults.

In total, the orphanage has helped 1,000 children and 2,000 family members through their impactful work.
