La Casa de la Madre y el Niño

Maestro Cares Foundation provided funding for much-needed renovations to La Casa de la Madre y el Niño (La Casa), the first adoption agency in Bogotá.

Phase I of the project converted administrative spaces into a playroom, built additional bedrooms, modernized bathrooms, established a tranquil study area to enhance the learning environment, and added space for psychosocial interventions. These changes ensure that children have access to welcoming and private spaces for individual interventions.

Phase II renovated and expanded the facility with a new clubhouse that provides age-appropriate recreational spaces. These upgrades provide safe and welcoming spaces for over 320 children, infants to 14 years old.

Phase III, funded by Maestro Cares Foundation in partnership with Tecnoglass, focuses on transforming the reception and administrative areas into a warmer, more functional, and welcoming environment for children undergoing the adoption process. The project includes upgrades to three offices, two family rooms, and the main welcome area, as well as improvements to interior carpentry and window systems. These enhancements strengthen security, improve the visitor experience, and create a more welcoming environment for children ages 0–17, families, staff, and visitors. On average, approximately 200 individuals benefit from these spaces each day, reinforcing the trust, dignity, and sense of belonging that are central to La Casa's mission.
