Casa Hogar Alegria – Guadalajara

Guadalajara, Mexico
Grand Opening: December 6th 2018
Maestro Cares Foundation, Fundación Telmex Telcel and Casa Hogar Alegría partnered once again for another girl’s home in Mexico. A stunning 1.65-acre campus with 2,430 square feet of construction consists of a dormitory for 50 girls, a dining hall, education and performance centers, administrative offices and facilities, a chapel, and beautiful outdoor spaces. This second project in Mexico will house 64 girls in the first stage and 128 girls in the second stage, ages 6 to 21. The complex is modeled after the first Casa Hogar Alegria home in Toluca, Mexico.

Casa Hogar Alegria provides a comprehensive upbringing to orphaned girls who lack parental care, a competent authority, who have socio-economic disadvantages or have any impediments that interfere with satisfying their basic needs. Casa Hogar Algeria provides the necessary attention to help advance personal development and thus the girls are able to become independent, responsible, respectful, happy with self-confidence and are overall able to increase their quality of life. Such characteristics help them become individuals who can easily integrate and engage with society.

How many kids have been impacted: Over 50 girls.

In 2014, 55.2% of children in Mexico ages 2 to 5 years of age, living in poverty and 13.1% in extreme poverty. In addition, 60.5% of them had deficiencies in access to social security and 25.8% in access to food.
