Casa en Comunidad: Maestro Cares House

Quito, Ecuador
Groundbreaking: Spring 2020
Grand Opening: Winter 2020

Maestro Cares committed to its first project in Ecuador by funding the construction of a foster home for abused, abandoned and neglected children.

Maestro Cares Foundation is proud to announce the confirmation of our 1st project in Quito, Ecuador. We will be supporting Aldeas Infantiles SOS Ecuador by funding the construction of "Casa en Comunidad" for abused, abandoned and neglected children. This home will serve as a transition home for up to 8 children and/or adolescents who after living at the "Casa de Primera Acogida" have transitioned to this second stage home, "Casa en Comunidad," where they continue their process of restitution and stay an average of 6 months to a maximum of 2 years with the goal of being reunited with their families or becoming independent.

According to SOS Children's Village International's research, approximately 5.6 million children live in Ecuador and only one in five children grows up in  households free from neglect and/or abuse.  This project aims to combat these statistics, in efforts to help ensure there are more resources for the children in Quito.
