The Maestro Cares Foundation has partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities for the Lurie Kitchen transformation project. This initiative aims to increase the capacity and efficiency of meal preparation for families whose children are hospitalized. The redesign of the kitchen area includes a commercial kitchen led by professional chefs, as well as kitchen spaces for families to cook and enjoy meals together. When the kitchen opened in 2012, it served 150 meals per day, and it now serves 450 meals daily to over 200 families. There will also be an extension of the playroom and space for families to connect in comfort during stressful times.
