Fundación La Casa de mi Padre

Santo Tomas, El Salvador

Maestro Cares Foundation joined forces with Sistema Fedecrédito to build a new foster home named Casa de Gozo, or House of Joy, in Santo Tomas, El Salvador. This is the third foster home in what will be a complex of eight operated by a local foundation, La Casa de mi Padre.

The vision of Casa de Gozo and the other homes in the complex is to provide children in foster care with an environment that is as similar to a family home as possible. That's why the Casa de mi Padre Foundation trains a married couple to be foster parents and raise the foster children alongside their biological children. Casa de Gozo is designed to accommodate up to 8 girls at a time, and as of June 2024, it is at full capacity. In total, Fundación La Casa De Mi Padre currently has one boys’ home, two girls’ homes, and one co-ed home for adolescents over 18 years old. In 2024, they have helped 24 kids directly through their 4 homes and 90 siblings who are counting on successful family reintegration.

La Casa de mi Padre’s goal is to model a healthy home environment for children from high-risk areas exposed to physical, psychological and sexual abuse. The children also have access to a private education, individual and group therapy, family strengthening programs, spiritual workshops, and recreational activities.
