Hospital Nacional de Niños

San Jose, Costa Rica

The Maestro Cares Foundation has partnered with the Fundacion para el Desarrollo del Hospital Nacional de Niños to renovate the Hemocomponent Laboratory and Blood Bank. The renovations will enhance areas for blood donation, processing, and transfusions that support emergency supplies and regular treatments for pediatric patients. Updates to the reception, waiting, testing, donation, and recovery spaces in Costa Rica’s primary pediatric hospital will ensure high-quality conditions for donors and medical staff. Approximately 3,900 blood donors, impacting 1,875 children aged infant to 15 years old, will benefit from these renovations annually.
