Fundación Jeison Aristizabal: Asodisvalle

Cali, Colombia

Maestro Cares Foundation, in collaboration with Latino music icon Maluma and his foundation, El Arte de los Sueños, funded the construction of a groundbreaking university called Institución Universitaria Jeison Aristizabal.

This facility is the first of its kind in Latin America, dedicated to providing specialized vocational training for individuals ages 18 to 35 with physical or cognitive disabilities. Located in one of Cali’s most vulnerable areas, this university is committed to fostering labor inclusion, encouraging entrepreneurship, and enhancing the quality of life for those facing barriers to employment.

Offering programs in baking, confectionery, leatherwork, carpentry, and garment making and design—with plans for further expansion—the university builds on previous collaborations between Maestro Cares Foundation and El Arte de los Sueños. This includes the addition of a rehabilitation center and educational spaces in 2019. By equipping students with essential skills and knowledge, the university aims to bridge the employment gap and empower individuals with disabilities to actively participate in the workforce.
