Corporación Renal Infantil MATER

Santiago, Chile

Maestro Cares Foundation and Bizarro Live Entertainment collaborated to fund the purchase and remodeling of two existing houses, transforming them into a larger, state-of-the-art facility named Casa de Acogida for Corporación Renal Infantil MATER. This upgraded facility provides comfort and care for children with kidney and urological diseases and their guardians, serving as a nurturing home-away- from-home during treatment.

Phase 1 included purchasing and converting the two homes into Casa de Acogida.

Phase 2, in collaboration with DG Medios, aims to modernize a Gamma-Camera Double Head used in nuclear medicine, along with renovating the examination room. This new equipment will benefit over 5,000 children and adolescents with various kidney diagnoses.

Casa de Acogida features 10 well-equipped units, each with private bathrooms and wheelchair access. The home also features two communal living areas, a playroom, dining facilities, a fully functional kitchen, a chapel, and an inviting outdoor area. It is strategically located one block from Exequiel González Cortés Children's Hospital. Every year, Corporación Renal Infantil MATER performs more than 14,000 exams and 300 surgeries throughout the country.

Corporación Renal Infantil MATER is a Chilean non-profit organization dedicated to preventing and treating cases of renal disease in low-income children throughout the country.
