Casa Hogar Alegría

Toluca, Mexico

Maestro Cares Foundation, Goya Foods, Fundación Tecnoglass, and Fundación Telmex-Telcel provided joint funding for phases I and II of the Casa Hogar Alegría Cacalomacán (CHA) project. CHA is an orphanage in Cacalomacán, Toluca that offers shelter for girls facing abuse, neglect, and abandonment.

Phase I of the project, which opened in 2016, included the construction of dormitories, a kitchen, a chapel, a computer lab, multipurpose rooms, administrative offices, recreational areas, and a basketball court, providing housing for 72 young girls.

Phase II involves significant expansions, including a new large dormitory building, an enlarged chapel, and the addition of a dining hall and kitchen. This phase also features new therapy spaces, computer rooms, group therapy rooms, a multipurpose room, a music room, storage areas, and a clinic. These upgrades will increase the facility’s capacity by accommodating an additional 168 girls and adding 3,672 square meters to the Cacalomacán location.

Fundación Casa Hogar Alegría offers a nurturing environment for orphaned girls aged 2 to 15, focusing on their personal development through comfort, encouragement, and support.
