Proyecto MABA - Lima, Peru

Maestro Cares Foundation and several partners sponsored Project MABA at Fe y Alegría school #25 in Lima, Peru. The project served 354 students from 1st to 3rd grade.

Proyecto MABA is an initiative aimed at implementing early STEM education for children in underprivileged communities by investing in advanced technology and communications infrastructure. It supplies cutting-edge equipment and a research proven tech-based curriculum for both teachers and students. The program also includes professional development for educators to effectively implement this curriculum into their classrooms.

In 2012, Peru ranked last out of 65 countries evaluated in the PISA international student assessments (UTEC), and Proyecto MABA aims to combat these educational disparities, particularly in developing regions. Since 2017, governmental financial support has futher bolstered Proyector MABA’s expansion and impact, exemplifying a shared commitment to nurturing young minds and ensuring equitable access to quality education for all.

Special Notes: Maestro Cares Foundation is committed to providing funding for three years. However, the program was suspended in 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19.
