Maestro Cares Foundation is proud to announce the addition of FJ Pollak to its board of directors. Mr. Pollak is President and CEO and co-founder of TracFone Wireless, Inc., the largest provider of no contract, prepaid wireless phone service in the U.S. serving over 25 million customers in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.  He has served in this position since the company’s inception in May 1996 and has been part of the America Movil/Telmex group since February 1999.  Under his leadership, TracFone has grown its revenues to over $6 Billion.

Mr. Pollak is a member of the CTIA Executive Committee and Board of Directors.  He has been involved with the telecommunications industry in the US for over 30 years and the wireless industry for over 21 years.   Mr. Pollak has many philanthropic interests some of which are close to home and others with global impact.  He serves on the board of Cushman School in Miami Beach and is also a major supporter of the Make A Wish Foundation.

“FJ Pollak is a highly successful and respected member of our community.  FJ’s example of strong corporate social responsibility will make him an invaluable asset to Maestro Cares Foundation as it continues to grow,” said Henry Cárdenas, co-founder and board chair of the foundation.

“My wife and I believe deeply in the mission of Maestro Cares Foundation.  It finds itself at a critical time in its evolution and I look forward to contributing my time and energy to this great organization,” commented Mr. Pollak on his appointment.

On October 3 2014, Goya Foods, Inc. presented a check for $150,000.00 to founders Marc Anthony and Henry Cárdenas. The donation will go towards the development and construction of the Hogar de Paso and school in Barranquilla, Colombia. “We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Goya Foods and their support of the mission of the Maestro Cares Foundation.  Having Goya’s support for our first project in the Dominican Republic and now our second project in Colombia demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of the neediest children in Latin America,” said Marc Anthony, founder of the foundation.


Students from The Golf Practice in Highland Park, IL collected clothing to donate to the children at Orfanato Ninos de Cristo in La Romana.
