Meet Paulina*, a 12-year-old who lives at Casa Hogar Alegría in Toluca, Mexico, and always wears that infectious smile.
Things haven’t always been easy for Paulina—in fact, she recently underwent an emergency appendectomy, but she keeps her eyes on her biggest goal—to become a teacher one day.
For now, Paulina spends as much time as she can learning, and says that her favorite thing about life at Casa Hogar Alegría is the chilaquiles—a traditional Mexican dish made of tortillas and green sauce.
For Paulina, and so many other who find a home with Maestro Cares Foundation, living at Casa Hogar Alegría has been a life changer.
