JULY 2019 NEWSLETTER

Happy July!

We hope you are staying cool this summer. This July we have several updates on our new projects, our interns and MCF’s participation in a local event – West Fest.

ROOSEVELT SQUARE COMMUNITY CENTER GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY

Our first U.S. project is finally underway! On Tuesday, June 11th, we had the groundbreaking ceremony for the Roosevelt Square Community Center.

MCF partnered with SOS Children’s Villages of Illinois to build the Roosevelt Square Community Center. Once complete, the Center will serve the 14 SOS foster homes and have programs for youth in the academic, therapeutic, social and recreational realm. Other project supporters include Wintrust, Goya Foods and the Chicago Housing Authority.

CASA DE GOZO CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED!

We’re happy to announce that the construction finalized for our foster home in Santo Tomas, El Salvador! Thanks to our partnership with Fundación Casa de mi Padre, La Casa de Gozo will attend to 8 girls, as well as 2 foster parents and their children. La Casa de Gozo will provide the girls with not only basic needs, but also private schooling, therapy, family strengthing programs, spiritual workshops, recreation, health and nutrition programs and equitation. We would like to extend special thanks to our partner, FEDECREDITO, for joining us in making this home a reality.

ALDEAS INFANTILES SOS BOLIVIA UPDATE!

MAESTRO CARES FOUNDATION AT WEST FEST CHICAGO

From July 5th through the 7th, we were fortunate enough to participate in West Fest Chicago; an annual festival with music, crafters and more! We had a booth where we displayed our merch and hosted a raffle for a unique guitar hand-painted by Miss Merlot, as well as a pair of custom Beats Headphones signed by Marc Anthony. Many people participated in our raffle, but we could only have two winners. The lucky winners were Tyler Mathiesen (guitar, top left) and Cher Paras (Beats, top right). Don’t miss out on our next event – you could win big!
